On trial for heresy

Posted by Chris T. on Monday, April 28th, 2008

It turns out the bishop's cats have decided to put me on trial for heresy because I posted some dog pictures during Friday cat blogging last week.

Your prayers are appreciated during this trying time! :-)

I dunno, Chris. I’m not sure prayers will be enough. They look like a pretty tough crowd.

Word has it though that cat treats, cat milk, and most importantly CATNIP may lead to a more merciful and lenient outlook from the Committee.

But Chris, you were demonstrating interspecies love, which surely is a Gospel value! (And I say this as a thoroughgoing Cat Person and with the full approval of Miss Maya Pavlova, who doesn’t care as long as she remains Queen of the Household.) So perhaps, as is often the case, it is you who will witness to His Grace the Bishop and to his Eminent Felines, so that they might know that you posted Canine Icons to the Glory of the Most Holy One.

But then, I am an Anglican, and you know us and our Via Media ;-).

    Jane –

Thanks so much for your support. I’m confident the bishop understands these bedrock Christian values, but in my experience cats, wonderful though they are, tend to be heathens and not much concerned with such things. :-P

Yes, the bishop does understand this, and has befriended many canines in his time — but his cats have enough trouble seeing each other as Feline Icons to the Glory of the Most Holy One, much less dogs.

And, sadly, the bishop’s cats seem to have figured out how to log on to the computer and post to his blog.

And we are pretty sure one of the cats, Alie, hears voices! Best to keep her happy!

Although the dogs were adorable too…no they were not..yes they were..who said that…what? (There are those voices)

In any event, I think the cats would be too afraid of the 5 foot candles to tip them over even if they found you guilty. :-)
